Basking in the sun

It's a sunny saturday morning and Orange has the best spot to do some sun basking.

Gone are the ugly and dirty looking wire mesh after Mr Lim and I finally decided to spend a small fortune to install window grills on all the windows

By the way the width of the window grills are 2 and half inch apart as recommend by one of the blogger kootoomonster! Now no more fear of the little rascals falling out of window. It's definitely money well spent

Lala also doing her sun basking while checking out my bag.

Orange looked so contented cleaning himself... Hmph of course lah he has finished his daily routine of meowing after us to feed him and just finish his meal!

See what see..

Apologies for neglecting my blog for such a long time. Its been a roller coaster ride for me the past two months.. I hope this roller coaster ride is coming to a smooth ride soon.. its a really special and happy period of time for Mr Lim and I now as we anticipate what is to come as months goes by..
Will be updating on Ah sky soon. Been hard to take photos of them nowadays as my handphone's battery is spoilt so unable to use. Currently stuck with an old ancient but useful Nokia handphone which belongs to Mr Lim. Not easy bringing my camera around and taking it out to capture candid shot of them when I want to.. haha I sound as if my camera is very bulky.. Well its not but I just don't find it convenient..
Currently sort of taking another look at Iphone which has been highly recommended by all my fanatic Iphone friend user + Mr Lim. Have to agree with them its really high tech. and the apps seem really cool too bad it fails in the photo megapix (okie I can hear BOO from all Iphone user) anyway another option would be the Samsung jet.. megapix same as my current one and i can be assure i can continue to take wonderful shots.
Managed to upload a few shots of the little rascals looking really busy one of the nights...
When you see a cat standing in a position for quite some time you know they are up to something..
He's so focus on his task that my camera didn't make his lose his concentration!

This staring game got so "fun" and intense that our Lala decided to join in peeking from the corner of the bench...
So what are you staring at Orange?

I got my answer as I follow their gaze and saw the object of desire...Up on one corner of the ceiling is Mr Slimy again who decides to drop in on a visit again..

By now, even Lala had decided to join Orange in the stand.. Both cats looking intensely at Mr Slimy using their cat eye powers hoping to convince him to come down for a "play"

As expected Mr Slimy is not game enough for the "play" that the little rascals had in mind and decided to stay put. Lala gives up trying to convince him to come down with her super biotic eye power. She gave Orange a sniff and walked away.. Leaving Orange the ever hopeful alone..

Eventually when I had taken my shots I asked Mr Lim aka the party spoiler to disperse Mr Slimy away.. hehehe..

End of the day..

Zero casualty

One party spoiler

One disappointed cat

One happy photographer

One new blog entry

The little rascals... missing in action

The little rascals are complaining that too much focus has been given to Ah sky and are giving me the cold shoulders nowadays.. They have been rather well-behave for past few months but I noticed that their behaviour towards me changed a bit thought.. Orange used to enjoy sitting in the middle of my lap whenever im sitting on the sofa watching the TV.. Sometimes he would even rest his chin on my lap which I love it when he does that.. Now he doesn't do that anymore..

I really wonder why? He still does the drop dead to one side on the floor and demand his tummy rub but he just stopped sitting on my lap.. Did he sense a change in me?

Meanwhile Lala remains the same... on auto mode will sit on the cushion whenever I place it on top of my lap still like Orange she too does not stay long like in the past

During the day, they usually keep themselves busy by napping away or watching me from a distance or sitting close to me but always a distance away.. hmmm really wonder what's wrong with them?

Mysterious feathers...

They looked on with keen interest as their two legged woke up from her afternoon nap and slowly walked towards the corrider into the living room...

Do you think she saw it?

Yeah I think she did.. look at her face..

Sorry no picture taken of my facial expression as to what I saw before me... I swear if the little rascals could use their paw to use the camera, I bet they would take a picture for me...

Bet you can't tell what's that from this shot... same as me... until I decided to take a closer look

And I realised that its a feather.. and it look like it belong to a real bird...

And more feathers... Scattered over the dinning area...

Fearing the worse, my heart goes out to the poor soul of the owner of these feather... Its such a puzzle how the bird flew into my house as windows were not open except for the top part of the window plane. Strangest thing was, I couldn't see any blood and where is the bird?

I frantically went through the house looking at every secret spot I could think of dreading to find a half eaten bird or remains of it...

Coudn't find any... I decided not to touch the "crime" scene and wait for Mr Lim to come back. Mr Lim came back and was as puzzled as me.. He started to vacuum the feather when he noticed something on the floor.. Small streaks of dried blood on the floor.. very faint which explained why i couldn't see it in the first place.. Mr Lim and I concluded that:

Birdie must have somehow flew in from the top window plane and of course was earnestly "welcome" by the little rascals.. After some struggle between Orange and Lala on who should be the perfect host for the birdie, they accidentially tugged out some of birdie's feather... Angry and annoyed with the hospitality, Birdie flew off where he came in..

Yup, that must be how it happened rite? Oh, my Orangie and Lala are such gentle creatures (ignore the previous entry) they wouldn't think of attacking a harmless birdie rite.. and Im not in denial state okie..

Anyway, to give others the benefit of doubt, we still have to carried out some checks. See nails were cleaned no stains of blood or feather stuck there.. So can't be Orangie..

Lala, simply couldn't get near to her... that girl must be guitly of something according to Mr Lim..

Hmmm, I think I smell birdie on Orangie you know...

They can't be trying to eat the birdie rite? Oops that did not come out from my mouth...

Who's the Smarty?

So who's smarter when it comes to food? Orange or Lala? Orange the well-known to gobble up his food in less than a min or the Posh Lala who enjoy savouring her food slowly while watching out for the ever hungry Orange? We put them up to the test...

Test: A biscuit place in a spot they are not aware of. Test of their hunting skill

Winner: The one who sniffs out the biscuit first

Hmmm... Starting of video, seems like our ever hungry Orange is in the lead. Yup he smells something and is following where his nose is taking him. Oh he's so near to the biscuit and yet he's staring at the window and flicking his tail slowly?? Tsk tsk... After figuring out that the smell not coming from the window, he decided to turn Left instead to Right side where the biscuit is... what a waste... (disappointed "OOHH") Still he doesn't give up.. Our Orange is dead sure the biscuit is somewhere nearby and he decide to sit down and slowly analyse it... All the time sniffing and twitching his nose looking up down left right... Looks like Orange's strategy is to go slow and steady ah...

Oops... here comes Lala. She might be a tad slower than Orange but she caught up with him.. She gave the camera a good sniff to make sure biscuit is not hiding in Mummy's hand. Our Orange still looking cool and calm not at all threaten by Lala.. Who will find the biscuit??

Lala's strong sense of smell has led her straight to the spot! And she took less than 10 seconds to find it! Poor Orange could only look on helplessly as Lala munch on the biscuit. Hopeful Orange still went up to the spot to see if they still any biscuit...only to have the close up blissful look of Lala licking her mouth away.. Feeling defeated he walks away...

Later when asked how did Lala find the biscuit in such a short time here's what she said: "Oh you know me... I savour my food slowly and take the time to smell them unlike others who only gobble up their food..."

Who's the super loafer?

Mummy and daddy sure know how to enjoy life... they got a sofa, bed and chairs and all we got is Sally the basket to sleep in.. kinda unfair right...
Leaving us no choice but to improvise their furniture to suit our needs...

Today, we make a pact not to argue with one another and to share our favourite spot in the house with one another...

hey stop pushing against my paw..
Sleeping on the sofa in the daytime is not a bad place though not the best. Have to be there 1st to grab the best spot.. place can be bit noisy with distraction from mummy or daddy.. lucky I know the tactic to block out these distractions.

This swivel chair is a good place to sleep in especially when its tuck underneath the table. I can sleep the afternoon away cause its dark and I know mummy can't find me (used to)

Another favourite spot on the sofa.. the hand rest! The width and length is just right for my body... okie i know my leg is dangling out.. hmmm just did that on purpose to show off my slender leg keke.

We may not always see eye to eye on lots of things, but we definitely share the same standard on choosing a sleeping spot.. So who reach here 1st ah?

As you all should know by now, the famous top of the fridge spot found by ME first.. Best spot in the house.. estimated time for Mummy to find me: 5mins, Daddy: 7mins haha not to mention watching them go round the house looking for me...

Let me tell you, a cleaned dried towel is the best backing to lie on.. Wooo... the crisp of the towel rubbing against my body is like a massage.. Hmmm... Mummy don't agree with me though...

You see, baby sister can be such a copycat sometimes... Lala simply loves hogging the place that I set my eye on.. Lucky this time IM not MOVING MY BUTT haha

Cushion + human sitting on it = Comfort. I quickly hogged on it once Mummy moves away from the spot.. See my formula is right.. I fell right asleep on it..

The smell of new sheet is intoxicating... Never fails to put me in deep sleep within mins..

Sometimes when Im in a good mood, I extent my generosity to LaLa.. letting her lean on me

Okie I confess.. I only do this when mummy or daddy is around...

Basin are best for hot weather!! its concave part simply mould onto the contour of my body and the cooling surface brings down my body temperature.. Perfect.. but note: Not to use when Mummy or Daddy is inside unless you're having a blocked nose..

Another way to share the spot when each simply refuse to leave, sleep on opposite ends

Mummy's bag is a good place to tuck myself in.. I love leaving traces of me inside her bag so she can be reminded of me when she's outside hehe...

When you want a spot really BADLY.. try striking this pose and look at them earnestly...

It may not work well on Orange...Oh please, cutesy pose won't work on me

But it sure work well on Daddy and look where it got me! A spot on the bed beside Daddy! See, Im just practising my "Nah nah ni bu bu..I got the bed and you don't" look to Orange!

Guess who?

Hehe.. Its me! The ultimate best spot.. the place they took the longest to find me! In the wardrobe beside the clothes quiet and cozy.. Not even Lala can disturb me..

So who's the super loafer? Lala or me? Most importantly what's the prize for the winner??

Green for a day

Few months ago, Somebody in the office gave Mr Lim a money plant. He decided to bring it home to beautify the bathroom which he always complain was too dull.

It was a pity he thought too lightly about the watering part and even declared that it doesn't need any watering. The plant would be able to absorb the water from the moisture of the bathroom so he says...

Few weeks later...

the money plant started to show its gratitude to the owner by transforming its leaf "gold" Seems like the money plant is not absorbing the moisture from the bathroom well as claimed by Mr Lim.

As days goes by, leaves began torn and tattered and I start to wonder why..
On closer inspection, leave seems to be chewed by someone... Giant caterpillar??
Why am I not surprise... The usual culprit ~Orange aka the caterpillar... Seems like he decided to go on a detox by chewing on some greens!
Busy choosing the best juiciest leaf to chew on, he doesn't even realise Im taking picture of him!

He ate till his heart's content only to end up looking at this...
Gosh, I think Im gonna puke...

Lala hiding from a safe spot watching Orange...

And his tummy start to protest this it what I found... Ya i know its gross especially when I zoom all the way at it... guess he even threw out some of his breakfast... And look at the piece of leaf.. I guess Orange doesn't practice chewing his food well before swallowing..

To prevent further tummy upset, I decided to hang the money plant outside the window where it can get the maximum sunlight and rain... Orange was disappointed of course... kept starring at the plant... So near yet so far away...
